Support for fixed costs SME (TVL)
Key support measure in the Netherlands Compensation for Entrepreneurs in affected Sectors (TOGS), followed by the TVL (Support fixed costs SME) on 20 May 2020
On 20 May 2020 the government announced that the Togs will be followed by the TVL (Support fixed costs SME). This is a measure intended for SME companies that have a structural loss of turnover of over 30% due to the coronavirus crisis. Companies fulfilling the conditions could initially receive support up to € 20,000 for a 3-month period to continue paying the fixed costs (excluding wages). Late May, this amount was increased to € 50,000 for four months, until 1 October. This amount reflects that this government grant is classed as turnover for the NOW scheme (Temporary Employment Bridging Measure).
Companies in sectors that were previously eligible for the Togs will be able to make use of the TVL. The TVL is implemented by the RVO. Applications can probably be submitted as of mid-June. The Togs scheme will expire in mid-June. The TVL will retroactively become effective as of 1 June.
