Important change regarding the French payroll administration per 2019

As from 2019 onwards, wage tax will be withheld directly through the payslips in France, which means not the employee is responsible for the declaration and payment of wage tax, but that this will be withheld on the payslips and that due to this his net wage will be lower.

As in other countries, the employer is responsible for the time declaration and payment of the wage tax.
This change has been announced in France as the ‘prélèvement à la source’ end is applicable for all employees working and living in France.

As from 01.09.2018 the french authorities will start to inform employers about the percentage of wage tax that needs to be withheld for each employee. This percentage might be different for each employee, depending on their personal situation.
