New double taxation treaty between Belgium and the Netherlands

long awaited, nearly there !

On 21 June 2023, the new double taxation treaty between Belgium and the Netherlands will be signed.

WHAT WILL CHANGE?

It is as yet unknown what the concrete contents of this new negotiated treaty will be. However, any such double taxation treaty will be so impactful in our world of cross-border work that we wish to draw our readers’ attention to it beforehand. As soon as more information becomes available, you will of course find it on our corporate page on LinkedIn, on this website and in our newsletter.

WHEN WILL THE CHANGES BECOME EFFECTIVE?

After signing, the new treaty will have to be ratified by both Belgium and the Netherlands. This will be done by the parliaments of both countries. The new treaty will also contain a provision on when the new regulations will take effect and whether or not there will be transitional measures.
